1. Register with local search engines

Register your site with all the major search engines meant for local searches such as Google Places, Yahoo Local, Ask Business Search and Bing Local. All these local sites listing services give the users an option to check out the photos of businesses. Therefore do upload some pictures of your business. They need not be professional but make sure that photos are decent enough to represent your business and you should have the right to use them on the internet. Apart from this, you should also submit your company’s profile on Google Webmaster Tools.

2. Submit your site in local directories

Search engines give a lot of importance to inbound links directing to your site. So kick off your local search optimization by submitting your website in as many directories as possible. You can make submissions in various directories such as Yelp, Citysquares, Insider Pages, Kazoo, MojoPages, and many more. This will help you get quality inbound links which eventually will increase your website’s ranking and thereby bring in more traffic.
