Twenty-seven years ago, on a chilly Delhi wintry day on Jan 15, 1999 when the internet in India was more promise than practice, we began with a belief that words matter, ideas matter, and the people behind them matter most. Partho Mondal, then in his 20s, launched his web journey with his first venture, Meghdutam.com, born of that belief.

Where it all began: Belief before bandwidth

Meghdutam.com went on to become India’s first literary e-magazine, loved, widely read, and eventually recognised by BBC World TV in 2020 at the height of the dotcom boom as one of the world’s top four literary websites. For a small, passionate team, working out of sheer conviction, that moment felt surreal. But more than the recognition, it affirmed something deeper, that thoughtful work always finds its audience.

Back then, we were known as Orient InfoSolutions. The web was young, the rules were being written in real time, and every day felt like an experiment. We saw the dotcom boom up close and lived through its spectacular bust. We adapted as the web evolved, rode the exhilarating highs of the digital media explosion, and survived the sobering lows of global recessions, IT slowdowns, and, more recently, the pandemic years that tested every organization’s resilience.

Growing through change, not chasing it

In 2007, as we became a private limited company, we adopted a new name, Wisitech InfoSolutions Pvt. Ltd., one that reflected clarity, wisdom, and forward thinking. What carried forward, unchanged and strengthened, was our core commitment to craft, ethics, and long-term relationships. Our tagline, “walk the web wisely”, articulated our mission with quiet confidence.

Today, we stand here as an AI-first digital solutions provider, confident, grounded, and quietly proud of the journey that brought us here. Not because we chased every trend, but because we learned when to pause, when to pivot, and when to go deeper.

What endures is trust: With clients and with people

What makes this journey truly special is not just longevity, but continuity. A 92% client repeat rate does not happen by accident. Neither do client relationships that last 10, 12, 15 and even 25 years! They happen when trust is earned slowly, honoured consistently, and never taken for granted.

Equally, our internal story matters just as much. High employee retention, five-star reviews on job platforms, and teams that have grown with the company over decades are not metrics to flaunt, but values quietly lived every day.

Our people have always been our greatest strength. Through phases of uncertainty and growth alike, our team members chose to place their faith in Wisitech. They stayed when it would have been easier to leave. They learned when the ground beneath technology kept shifting. They evolved, building skills, deepening expertise, expanding perspectives, and in the process, grew not just as professionals, but as individuals. And Wisitech grew with them.

We have always believed that companies are not built by strategies alone, but by people who show up with integrity, curiosity, and courage, even when the path ahead is unclear.

Still curious: Carrying experience into an AI-First future

Twenty-seven years later, the excitement has not dimmed. If anything, it has matured into something richer, a quiet confidence, a sharper sense of purpose, and a continued hunger to learn and create responsibly in a rapidly changing world. With the unveiling of our new website towards the close of 2025, we reaffirm our place in the AI world as an AI-first company, carrying forward decades of learning into the future we are building.

This journey has been fun, challenging, humbling, and deeply rewarding. And as we look ahead, we do so with gratitude, for our clients who stayed, our teams who believed, and the ideas that continue to push us forward.

Here’s to the next chapter. Still curious. Still committed. Still growing.
